I love eBay. Say what you will about what it's done for the shoe "game," but all I know is that it's aloud me to get shoes I know I'd get otherwise. Take these Chucks below, they're the Red John Chucks. Red John is the unseen character in the CBS hit show "The Mentalist." Converse worked with the stars of the show to create a unique Red John pair of Chucks for the cast and crew as a special thank you for their work on the 2nd season. I was extremely lucky to get these on eBay. I was able to get a truly unique and limited item that I wouldn't have been able to get without eBay.
Above you see a picture of the show's star Simon Baker and the Red John logo on the wall. Red John leaves the logo behind every crime scene.

'S Weapon Wednesday: Converse Weapon Year of the Tiger
Recently some pictures of a Converse Year of the Tiger Chuck Taylor's released. Today we have some pictures of the Converse Weapon Year of the Tiger, or at least the sample pictures. Now keep in mind that these are samples, and even if they do get produced they'll more than likely be exclusive to China. That doesn't mean we can't appreciate them though. So take a look and enjoy!
This years Chinese New Year is February 14, 2010 so keep your eyes peeled for more Tiger themed releases. Thanks for checking out the blog, remember to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog
Merry CHRISTmas!

Kyle Korver's Converse Weapon EVO PE
I said back at the beginning of the NBA season that Kyle Korver and Alando Tucker would do battle all year for the best colorways of the Converse Weapon EVO. Now we have a closer look at Kyle Korver's PE in a size 9 sample...House of Hoops perhaps?
Below you'll see Kirk's Logo on the heel, his number and bible verse on the tongue.

Converse ST Metallic HI from Converse Japan
We've seen some pretty wild releases from Converse Japan, but these are very solid. They're the Converse ST Metallic HI. You won't find these in the states, but if you happen to be in Japan or have any connections you might be lucky enough to pick up a pair. These would go great with some of my Kentucky Wildcats gear while catching a game in Rupp Arena. Oh well, a few pictures will have to do, which I hope you enjoy below. These pictures came from the Plaza online store, check it out for some more interesting Japan releases.
I just found out that I'll be participating in faculty vs students basketball game on Friday morning. I am pretty fired up and I'll be rocking my Weapon EVO's for sure. Hopefully I can get some pictures up, it won't be on the Band of Ballers level, but it should be fun.
That's it for now, follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog and thank you for supporting The Original Converse Blog!

'S Friday Flashback: Cal Poly Pomona Bronco Volleyball Camp!
Welcome to The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback. Today's flash back is way back to 1986 and the Cal Poly Pomona Bronco Volleyball Camp. Vintage t-shirt, yep. Converse sponsored sports camp, oh yeah. Volleyball? Okay so even I didn't know Converse had ever had anything to do with Volleyball. However, it does make sense, Converse used to make shoes for every other sport, so why not. I really wish I had some shots of the shoes, but the t-shirt will have to do.

Welcome back to a wonderful Weapon Wednesday. I hope you're all getting ready for Christmas, if not there is still time...so get with it people. Hello world, I'm really excited about today's post because it's a new basketball shoe from Converse. The Converse Drop Step is the 2nd shoe to feature the Converse Balls technology. There is an obvious old school flavor to these, and you should enjoy that very much. I'd love to get a shot of the outsole to see how the Balls technology looks with this set up. As you've probably already noticed the Drop Step does not have visible Balls Technology, at least in the midsole. I've got a pretty good feeling that you can see it from the outsole.
The Drop Step first released in the White/Red/Black and Black/White colorways above. You should expect other colors and possibly even an Ox version in the months to come. Below I've taken a few close up shots of some of the more interesting details of the shoe. In fact, Acie Law was wearing the Drop Step early in the season when he was actually playing for Golden State.

The Converse Blog: Converse x The Clash's London Calling
Converse has been teaming up with some of the most successful bands of all time, these collaborations will continue with the release of the Converse x The Clash line of footwear. Below you will see the main release of the bunch, aka the London Calling Chuck. Simple and clean would be the perfect words to describe this shoe....enjoy!
I've noticed, especially with the Metalica collaboration that Converse has really been drawing from the album covers, which I think is a really nice touch. You can find these on Converse.com along with the other Converse x The Clash shoes!

The Converse Blog update
What a mess. Hello world, this is James from THE Converse Blog. Recently my original domain of TheConverseBlog.com expired and before I could figure out what happened it was purchased by another person. I had originally purchased the domain through google in 2007 and at the time I selected the automatic renew feature, which was supposed to automatically charge my credit card for the domain. However, this did not happen, and I lost the domain. To make matters worse, the new owner of theConverseblog.com has simply copied and pasted my archived posts. This tells me that the he was a reader of the blog, which really makes matters worse.
All of this to say that I will be posting here at TheConverseBlog.Net from now. I'm looking forward to providing the most geniuine and honest coverage of Converse that I can.
