Converse DefCON: a closer look
After what seems like a million years, we finally get a closer look at the new Converse DefCON. If you been following along with me you know that this shoe has a special place in my heart, and my pocketbook. However, it doesn't matter know as teams needing Maroon, Orange, Green, or Purple colored basketball shoes will once again be deprived the opportunity to wear Converse this season. But there are still the basic 5 team colorways of the DefCON coming out, Black/Black, White/Black, Navy/Black, Royal/Black and the Red/Black pictured below.
There is a lot going on here so lets jump right into the shoes. After the success of the Star Player EVO, Converse has brought back the CONtain Fit Technology system for this shoe. The most obvious use of this technology is in the direct-inject EVA foam cage surrounding the shoe. It's used to decrease the overall weight of the shoe, but giving it the protection it needs to stand up to a season. As you can see this cage goes from the upper directly into the midsole.
In the third picture you'll see the Converse Ball Technology, with a a familiar neon yellow color that reminds me of REACT Juice. In the fourth picture you can see the continuation of lacing loops into the shoe that tighten as you tighten the laces for a better fit. The tighten around the inner booty.
I haven't got to play in them yet, but I hope to soon. I wanted to get some new pictures to you as soon as I could. Hope you enjoy! I also hope to see this on some NBA feet before too much longer.

Converse All American Mid Royal/Black Colorway
Below is the Converse All American in a Royal/Black colorway. I'm guessing this colorway was canceled in America, which seems to be the norm these days. I think it's pretty hard to sell basketball shoes when you don't really offer any for people to buy, but I guess I am crazy for that type of thinking.
Big up to Aaron Johnson for sending me this my way, as it looks like these are actually avaliable in Mexico. So if you're a real fan of this colorway you'll have to go hunting south of the boarder.
