Converse Fast Break PE Mid

In recent years Converse has been releasing different colorways of the Fast Break 2, which is a reworking of classic Converse Basketball shoe from the 80's. A simple Google images search will yield multiple colorways, some that I am pretty sure are fakes.  The fine people at Converse Belgium felt like the Fast Break needed a more true to the original release.  Enter the Converse Fast Break PE Mid, which is still pretty different from the original Fastbreak that released in 1984.

New Converse T-shirts!!!

Converse has finally released a wide range of t-shirts that feature their wide rang of logos.  This has been a long time coming, as it's been a number of years since so many logo shirts have been available.

Be advised, they shirts are very tiny.  I recently purchased a few of the shirts from a Converse store in Orlando and I had to purchase a XXXL which for Converse is the same as normal size XL t-shirt.  I literally lined up my Converse shirt with a normal XL and the Converse XXXL was the same except being a half an inch longer.  Personally I think that's kind of absurd and will probably cost them some sales.  I'm not saying they shouldn't have these American Apparel type skin tight shirts, but have some normal fitting clothes too.

You can find them on Converse.com in a bunch of other colors, however only a few go up to a XXL as most top out at an XL.  Anyway, I guess I should just be happy they made the shirts even if I can't buy my size online.   My bitterness aside, I am really thrilled that you can now sport Converse logos on more then just your shoes.   Check them out below!!!

It came from Brazil....Converse Ruby

Welcome to the Converse blog, today we have the next edition of "It Came from Brazil."  Today's edition comes from the Skateboarding division in the form of the Converse Ruby.  I'm really digging the red pair and I love the nice little detail of the black X stitching.  If you like these then I'd be making plans to visit Brazil or make some new Brazilian friends.

Converse Weapon 86 Year of the Rabbit

While Weapon releases stateside have pretty much stopped, the Weapon 86 is going strong in China. For evidence look no further then the Year of the Rabbit Weapons pictured below.  You can see the Rabbit logo on the tongue below in the 2nd picture.  The mostly black upper gives way to a translucent midsole giving way to a red and black pattern.  Check it out below.

Mystery Converse Basketball Shoe from Converse Eastbay Classic

Recently Converse and Eastbay put on their annual high school basketball showcase.  One of my favorite parts of the event is the recap video that STACK puts together.  During the first few seconds of this years video was a shot of a mystery Converse Basketball shoe.  It doesn't appear to feature Converse Balls Technology, however it does appear to have too much detail and retooling of a the midsole to simply be a lower tier release.  Perhaps if features the CBT sock-liner the popular Star Player EVO has, or maybe there is a whole new foam based cushioning technology in the heel.

Anyway, I got the first screen shot from STACK and then I played around and edited the last four to give you an idea of what it might look like it some other colorways.  In the 2nd shot you get an idea of what a Orlando Magic colorway might be followed by a Boston Celtic colorway that Luke Harangody could wear.   Something you can see better on the last two pictures is that pattern used on the upper.

Converse X Bike in Japan

Converse Japan makes Bicycles...go back and read that again if you need to.  There have been a lot of products that sport the Converse name and logo over the years, but this is something way out of left field.  You can find out more at Converse Bike the website.  The white wheels ads a nice little touch that I think is pretty eye catching.  Anyway, you can judge for yourself with the pictures below.

Converse Basketball Wristbands

Today we have a very exciting product, Converse Star Chevron Wristbands.  In recent years you could have found different wristbands at Converse outlet stores.  However, for the first time they're avaliable online with the Star Chevron, now if we could just get some basketball shorts.  The wristbands are only 5 bucks and you can order them here.

This is a small step in Converse's ongoing effort to take basketball more seriously.  I can't wait to see what's coming next.  Thanks for checking out the blog and remember to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog and on Facebook too.

Friday Flashback Unreleased Edition: Converse Lock

So this Friday Flashback only goes back a few years, the Converse Lock was, if remember correctly, was scheduled for a Holiday 2008 release.   The shoe is very similar to the Converse Assist, which Maurice Evans wore even this year for a game or two.  I was really looking forward to this release, mainly because I found the design more interesting then the Assist.

I'm still looking for submissions for the upcoming, "What would you do if you ran Converse for a Day" post.  Email me at conversencaa@hotmail.com with your suggestions and we'll get your ideas out there.  Thanks for checking out the blog, don't forget to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog and now on Facebook at The Converse Blog

Converse Starion 84 Baby Blue

A few years ago when Dwyane Wade still had his own signature line of shoes and apparel from Converse, he was spotted wearing the re-issue of this shoe below in a red/white colorway and a black/white colorway.  I was told at the time that the Starion would be released in the following year, which would have been 2010.  Well as you know, 2010 came and went without the Starion or any other retro basketball release from Converse.  In America that is,  Converse did release them in Mexico and some other countries around the world.   One of the released colorways is seen below, Baby Blue/White.

While this shoe doesn't have the same history as the Weapon, it certainly fits the mold for a nice retro release.  If I'm not mistaken, this is a shoe that David Robinson wore while at Navy.  However, I am not sure if or when we'll ever see them release in the states.  Until then, enjoy this tease below.
