Converse John Varvatos Pro Leather White/Red

It's been many years since there was a Converse John Varvatos shoe that featured the star and chevron logo...actually I think the last shoe was the JV World Class Trainer 2...which I have in the Brown/Lime/Gold colorway.  Anyway, these also come in a black colorway, but I really like the worn look of the white/red that you see below.  In the second picture you will see a nice touch with a red thread pushing through the leather.

These aren't the same Pro Leathers that used to run the NBA, ABA, and NCAA courts, but there is enough of the old school to make these a pretty interesting release.

Look for more use of the Star Chevron in other John Varvatos releases this season.  I might post them up too, but they're out there if you look.  Thank you for checking out the Original Converse Blog, follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog

Converse Trio CC Yellow/Blue colorway

There has been some buzz building for the Converse Trio CC. Here is the Yellow/Blue colorway of this curious slip-on from Converse's more adventurous Japan unit.  The Trio CC has a pretty interesting mix of Canvas and Leather.

I wouldn't hold my breath about these showing up state side.  Good hunting to you.  Thanks for checking out the blog, don't foget to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog

Converse Dunkit 3/4

The second of the three re-branded Dwyane Wade shoes has surfaced, well sort of. I've found pictures on Academy Sports and Big 5 Sports for the Converse Dunkit, but neither of them offer online sales. This was supposed to be a Dicks Sporting Goods exclusive named the Wade Clutch 2...now it looks like the shoe has been offered to other accounts.

I've been more excited about this shoe then even the Weapon EVO....I love the overall look of this shoe more and plus it has an inner booty!

Hopefully more and more stores will start to bring out the Converse Dunkit as the two mentioned above have done so in the last week.  Hopefully it will even show up on Converse.Com, but we'll have to see.  If not you might have find a Big 5 sports or Academy sports near you....follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog

Converse Skateboarding CVO 3/4 - Blue/White

Earlier this year the Converse Skateboarding CVO and Sea Star released at Stussy. They must have sold really well because now the CVO's are up on Converse.com.  Pictured below are the Blue/White colorway.

I've got to say, Converse Skateboarding is on point.  I've seen some of the shoes coming down the line and it's only going to get better.  Thanks for checking out the blog, follow along on twitter.com @TheConverseBlog

Converse Vintage Toboggan ( Beanie depending on what part of the country your from)

As a any respectable southern man knows, a knit cap you wear in the winter is called a toboggan.  For the rest of country I think they call them beanies, which makes me laugh every time I think about it.  Anyway, i found this vintage Converse knit cap while searing around the Internets.

If you saw on Twitter, Maurice Evans broke out the Converse Drop Step last night, which is the shoe that Acie Law wore in Golden State at the beginning of season.  Look out for more of the Converse Drop Step hopefully soon.  Don't forget to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog

'S Weapon Wednesday: Kyle Korver in White/Green/Black Weapon EVO.

Once I knew that the Jazz would be rocking throwback jerseys this year I was looking forward to the interesting colorway Converse would cook up for Korver. And while I think it would be better to have the yellow midsole, I can't complain with the execution. I particularly love the solid green toe cap area which is different than any of the other Weapon EVO colorways i've seen.

Well that's it for tody, check back Friday for a Friday Flashback.  Don't forget to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog

SOOOOO That happened. aka Converse Triumph Mid

Well last week came and went and I didn't post anything. Most of that had to deal with a really important group of observations at school. Good news, I'm a much better teacher than I was in the beginning of the year! Bad news, if I don't my internship portfolio together properly I'll fail and be out a job, ouch. So I apologize for the lack of content I was completely tied up.

So I'm going to try and play a little catch up.  Below is the Converse Triumph which is the first of the previously branded Wade shoes that was to come out this year.  It was originally going to be a Team shoe for 2009 but when Nike switched Wade over the shoes were dropped.  Well until now, you can find this White/White colorway and a Black/White colorway at Eastbay.com.

These might be the last shoe to feature the Converse Suspend system that was used in the Wade 4.  I need your help on something...I'm trying to find some high schools that wear Converse this season.  I want to give them some love on the blog, of course I would need to contact the schools and get permission.  So if you know of any schools please shoot me an email at ConverseNCAA@hotmail.com.

Also I've been doing a recap of Converse in the NBA on twitter.  I'm calling it the The First School Stats, i'll give you all the stats of the players wearing Converse in the NBA.  So follow along on twitter.com @TheConverseBlog
