The Converse Blog's Friday Flashforward: Converse Wade Slash

Happy Friday, and welcome to the Converse Blog's first ever Flash Forward. Today instead of looking back into the Converse archives, I'll be looking forward to an upcoming Converse release. Soon Converse will be releasing the Converse Wade Slash the first none signature and none team Wade basketball shoe. Already this shoe has been seen on the feet of Acie Law and Alando Tucker. One of the interesting features of this shoe is the Velcro straps that connect from the tongue of the shoe to the sides. This makes for an interesting use of the Converse logo in a more functional way than just branding. The shoes are double-lasted to give that low to the ground speedy look that helped to make the Wade 1 and 1.3 so popular...well that and the guy who was wearing them.

Well that's it for today's Flash Forward. I am working on putting together a very interesting post for next week that could stretch for a few post or so. I am not for sure yet, but it should be pretty interesting...well at least I hope so.

The Converse Blog: NBA Shots

Hello world, today I get to kill two birds with one stone. Don't worry these are game birds I intent to eat them later. I've been meaning to post up some pictures of the Converse roster in action. Which works out really well today because I've been a real slacker and have put off all kinds of work until today. Something about backing myself into a corner that I just can't get over. Anyway lets just get right to it. I am not for sure, but most of the pictures they come from Yahoo sports.
Below you will see Orien Greene of the Kings wearing the black/black colorway of the 099
Below you see Hawks guard Acie Law IV moving past Rondo wearing a player exclusive 099 colorway in White/Navy/Red.
Below is a shot of Udonis Haslem probably after one of his offensive rebounds, wearing the Black/Red colorway of the 099.

In the left side of this picture you will see Alando Tucker of the Suns, the rookie out of Wisconsin is rocking a player exclusive colorway of the 099. The colorway seems to be black/white/Purple/Orange. Let me just say I've seen some other colorways he's worn and I just love that Converse has a Suns player again.

Below is Jameer Nelson wearing a player exclusive black/royal colorway of the 099.

In this pic, Kirk Hinrich is guarding Andre Miler, both wearing the 099 in white/black/red and black/red colorways.

Kyle Korver wearing the White/Black/Red colorway of the 099

Andre Miller rocking the black/red colorway of the 099

Maurice Evans of the Lakers is shown here wearing a player exclusive white/black/gold colorway of the 099.

In the last shot here you will see Maurice Evans wearing a white/purple/gold colorway of the Hops, this will be the shoe everyone will wear starting in January.

They had a big press release packet come out yesterday so I am going to raid that for content soon, but I had all of this pics saved so I thought I'd go ahead and get them out to you. Thanks for show up today, come back on Friday for some more Converse goodness.

The Converse Blog: New Website, NBA Tip Off, and Wade Commercial.

I want to start off with a shout out to Derek Webb, I was fortunate enough to get to his show at The Dame last night. If you haven't heard of him, it's worth your time to check out his myspace.

Well my computer is still on the fritz, so I don't have access to my library of pictures. But I do have access to youtube, and I'll get to that in a minute. Converse updated their website sometime yesterday. It's got a feature on the Wade 3.0 and it's really worth your time to click through and learn about the shoe and Wade. They also finally show off some of the other endorsers, well sort of. If you click on the Basketball button, and then click on "Find out about Open Gym" in the bottom right hand corner, you'll see a picture featuring Maurice Evans, Acie Law IV, Kirk Hinrich, Udonis Haslem, Dwyane Wade, Kyle Korver, and Jameer Nelson. These are not all of the members of the Converse team, but it's nice to see them finally get some love on the Website.

The second thing on the list is NBA Tip-Off, and from this press release it appears that Converse will be sponsoring ESPN's NBA Tip-Off show this season. This starts opening night Oct 31, witht he CAVS vs MAVS followed by the Sonics vs Nuggets. Very cool to see Converse every night ESPN has an NBA game.

The final thing I wanted to share with you today is the new Dwyane Wade commercial that will start playing Sunday during the Giants vs Dolphins game. With a commercial were less is more I'll just let it speak for itself, have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by, pass the word along.
