'S Friday Flashback: Converse Classic Golf.

Welcome to the Converse Blog's Friday Flashback. Today's Flashback is the Converse Classic Golf shoe.  Back in the day Converse made Golf Shoes, and that's exactly what these are.  Brown Leather, Metal Spikes, Lace Guard flap, it's all right here in these Converse Classic Golf shoes. 

Today you'd be hard pressed to find anyone playing golf with metal spikes, but it used to be the only way to play.  They aren't even allowed at our local country club, which stinks because if I ever find a pair I'd have to drive somewhere else to play haha.  Anyway Golf has been on my mind lately since my PS3 died I've been playing the Wii and some Tiger Woods!  I hope someday Converse will make Golf shoes again, I just hope it's before I'm eligible for the seniors tour.  Don't forget to follow along on Twitter @TheConverseBlog.

Converse Golf...from China

It's been gone for quite sometime, but I recently found out that Converse Golf is back in business...in China.  Belding Golf has a licensing agreement to produce Converse Golf products.  They have a few different Golf bags, Drivers, Irons, Shoes, Clothes, and Balls.  I've got a few golf balls and a golf towl from back in the late 90's that I got at the original Converes outlet stores.  I only use those Converse balls when I putt. 

I must say that I am really excited about this, but I am not exactlly getting my hopes for a return for Converse Golf here in the states.  Also I've got to say that the shoes look pretty generic and they don't exactly match the small pictures of the other shoes so who knows what they actually look like.  I am probably mosted fired up about the Drivers and Irons, they just need some woods,wedges, and putters to complete the set.

The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback: Chucks' Golfer.

Good and happy Friday to each and everyone of you. It's been a crazy a few days for me and I am glad to get back to posting on the blog. I still can't say what went down, I just don't want to jinx it, but I hope by Monday that I can speak about it. Before we get to the blog I've got to post some bad news. If you haven't heard by now, Derrick Rose signed a contract with Adidas the other day. Now I don't know how serious a chance that Converse had to sign Rose, but I really had my hopes up. At the end of the day it has now been 17 years since Converse signed the #1 draft pick. This hasn't always been a bad thing (Kwame Brown), but I do hope it's a streak that can end next year. Now, let's get back to the blog and today's Friday Flashback.

Uh-hu, that's right. For those of you that didn't know, Converse used to make Golf Shoes. I don't know for sure how old these are, they come in a box that I've never seen before. One thing I love about these shoes is that they actually have "Chucks" in the name. I've never seen that before either. Enjoy the rest of the pics.







So that is what a Converse golf shoe looked like then, I'd love to see what one would look like today. Either way these are a gem and I hope you enjoyed them. Now to speak on the current poll. Maurice Evans recently signed a contract with Golden State, one of the teams that I didn't put in the poll. He was coming from that Orlando Magic, which already had a Converse player on the team in Jameer Nelson. So I should have put Golden State on the poll, ah you live and you learn. However, Boston looks to be pulling away a little bit from LA. Which only makes sense when you consider where Converse is based. Well I just got in from Nashville and I wanted to post a Happy New Years post. Well actually a Happy Converse Century, as the celebration begins today. I've added a poll at the top here, I've got it set to run through the month. Converse currently makes Basketball, Cheerleading, and Skateboarding shoes. I want to know what other sport shoes you want to see them make, Running/Training, Football, Baseball, Soccer, Golf, or Other.
