Converse Square Star Hoodie

One my favorite people texted me this morning telling me that it felt like fall outside.  To which I replied to her...."Football!!!!!" followed quickly with, "Makes me wanna be in a cabin in East Tennessee."  However, in my head I was also thinking Hoodie Weather!!!! 

Sometimes it's the simple things...speaking of which is this new Converse hoodie.  I found it on KICKZ.com. Unfortunately shipping to the US cost about as much as the hoodie itself does.  Oh well it's nice to look at.  If you're in the EU it shouldn't be too bad.

The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback: Converse Pro Leather Suede Toe Cap

Sometimes even I am surprised by what Converse goodness I find while combing the world wide interweb. Today I am going to share one of those pleasant surprises with you. Recently I found an eBay auction for a pair of Converse Pro Leathers with a Suede Toe Cap. Flat out, these are sick, I can't really put it any other way.

I've never seen a pair like this before, I'd say they are somewhat rare. Well I am off to Bowling Green after school today. It will be so good to get out out of town for a few days and take in a WKU football game. It's not every year that a College football team in your state moves up to the Bowl Subdivision. The Converse Blog: Converse Wade Clutch

What a weekend, I was so excited for football season to finally kick off. But as it turns out, I didn't get much football action. Friday night I started to feel a little tingling in my throat so I decided not to go out to our local high school football game. My hopes were that if I rested my voice and took it easy Friday night that I'd be fine for the UK game on Saturday. As it turns out that tingle in my throat turned into full blown pain and cough. So needless to say I didn't make to the UK game Saturday night. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, I woke up Sunday morning still with the sore throat but I also felt really weak. So I missed out on Church too. Then some new guy named Brett decides to beat my Dolphins. Wrap all of that up into a nice little gift box and put this bow on top....I can't miss a day of school because I don't have plans more than a day ahead, yet. Therefore I had no plans to leave for another sub today.

As you can probably imagine, I am so ready for today haha. Speaking of today, new pics of the Converse Wade Clutch. The white/black and black/black colorways can be seen below. I got these pics from this other Converse Blog.

The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback: Lou Brock 118 Kicks

With football season quickly approaching and basketball season not far behind, we know that the summer is quickly fading. Which means a few things, for starters it's going to get colder which is good because they you rock a hoodie without breaking a sweat. It also means that the leaves will be changing color. However, it also means the end of baseball's regular season and the start of the MLB's post season. Speaking of baseball, today's flashback is a pair of Lou Brock signature Converse shoes from back in the day.

At first glance they may just look like a pair of chucks with a different upper. That isn't exactly true, if you look around the ankle you'll see more padding and later on you'll also notice a much wider heel stripe in Leather. Another nice feature is the piping that runs under the shoe laces. As you get through the pictures you'll also see the outsole is designed for baseball, don't ask me how, but never the less the are. You might also be asking yourself, why is the number 118 written all over this shoe. That's a question I asked myself, thank goodness for the world wide interweb. In 1974 Lou Brock stole 118 bases, and at the time it was a new single season record.






Above you'll also notice the Converse Comfort Arch and Cushion Heel, plus you've got to love the tilted "C" logo. Well that's it for today, I hope everyone enjoys the kick off of College football as much as I will. Thanks for checking out the blog.

The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback Dimple Hi LE Football Shoes

And now for something completely different, shoes! No really, I almost made it a whole week writing this blog without showing any shoes. And had I not promised yesterday I would've done it again today. With August in full swing and pre-season NFL action taking place, football is in the air. Football season used to mean a fresh batch of Converse football products, but it's been quite some time since we've seen any of those. In fact the pair today might be one of the last pairs of Converse football shoes ever made.

If you look closely you can catch a glimpse of the white colorway of these shoes in the background of an ESPN football show, I just can't remember which one. There are a few things to love about these shoes. First their football shoes, how amazing is that? Over the years I've seen a number of Nebraska football items made by Converse and I often wonder what it would be like to see the Circle and Star on the gridiron.

These shoes also have the classic, branding CONS on the heel. These served two purposes, it took advantage of a nickname the shoes always seemed to carry and tapped into the fad of four letter brand names like Nike and Fila. They also came with the awesome Converse box with the star in the "O" and chevrons on the box. However, the real prize of this box is the Converse logo itself. I've never heard an official name for this logo, but I also called in the Chevron in Star logo. It was used primarily during the REACT days. It hasn't been used since the release of the All Star 2000 in 1996.

The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback: American Youth Soccer Organization Cleats

I don't have to tell you this, but I love sports. Basketball is by far my favorite, followed by SEC football and then all other types of football. One sport that I never played or watched growing up was Soccer. In fact it wasn't until my junior year in high school that I went to a soccer match. Some of my closest friends played soccer and so I went to support them. I've been fascinated with the sport ever since.

I got extremely fired up a few years ago when a pair of Converse Soccer cleats showed up on a few Converse websites from around the world. The closest place to show the cleats was Converse Mexico.

I was thinking about the big match between Chelsea and Manchester United, and I thought I'd show off a pair of Converse cleats for today's Flashbacks. These aren't the ones from a few years ago though, these are a little more flashbacked than that.

I don't know how old these are, but given the outsoles I'd say there from the early 70's. I have a vintage pair of Converse Soccer Cleats of my own, I'll post them up someday. For now, enjoy these cleats that had the official approval from the American Youth Soccer Organization or the AYSO. Thanks for stopping in, please vote on the way out.

Well I just got in from Nashville and I wanted to post a Happy New Years post. Well actually a Happy Converse Century, as the celebration begins today. I've added a poll at the top here, I've got it set to run through the month. Converse currently makes Basketball, Cheerleading, and Skateboarding shoes. I want to know what other sport shoes you want to see them make, Running/Training, Football, Baseball, Soccer, Golf, or Other.

Converse NCAA's Weapon Wednesday

Great few days around these parts as UK pulled out a close game against U of L and we're ranked for the first time in 23 years, yep right after I was born. With a win like that people are finally talking about UK, which is good, except we play Arkansas this week. Oh well, this isn't a football blog, this is a Converse blog. In fact it is Wednesday so it's a blog about a Converse Weapon.





These are some samples again from TaoBao, but there is something about these that I might actually like. I can't put my finger on it, maybe it's the design in the with the light blue/green. I don't know, if these are coming out or not, but I actually hope they do. Anyway, not a whole lot for today I've got to start studying for a math test tomorrow. Converse NCAA's Friday Flashback

Welcome to Converse NCAA's Friday Flashback. It's been a big week here in the Bluegrass as everyone is very excited for tomorrow's football game with the Cards. Game starts at 7:30 and is going to be on ESPN Classic. Often times I am critical of ESPN, but they may have gotten this one correct. So in honor of the big game I thought I'd share a little Kentucky Wildcat Blue and White with everyone today. Now I know it's not actually Wildcat blue, but it sure isn't Red/Black/Yellow. I don't hate Louisville, in fact I think it's great for the state and football here, but just this week I do.

Converse All Star Basketball

I am also coming with a basketball shoe this week, I felt like it had been a little while. So these are basically just a Chuck Ox, with the Chevron and Star and some different stitching. However, I really feel like less is more here. It's very simple, clean, and to the point.

I just can't get enough of the Chevron and Star, so nice.
