JJ Barea gives us a preview of the Pro Leather 2k11 Ox

During the Pan Am games that Puerto Rico won our man JJ Barea busted out the new Converse Pro Leather 2k11 Ox (or EVO for the ox version, not sure yet.)  This is a shoe that will hopefully make it into production in the spring.  Here's hoping it doesn't go the way of the Weapon EVO ox and Star Player EVO ox, which neither made to retail.

The blue area on the bottom of the shoe is CBT tech, Converse Balls.  While the white areas pays tribute to the original traction pattern of the Pro Leather.

Hurry up and end the NBA lockout so we can see Converse on the courts!

Converse Star Player EVO new colorway

Below is a new colorway of the Converse Star Player EVO.  I am not sure if these actually made it into production or not, I guess time will tell.  I know there are people still trying to find these fantastic shoes from last year.  There are a few other colorways floating out there too, I'll try to post them up next week.

The Converse All American Challenge

For the last few years there have been some potentially awesome low top Converse basketball shoes that never actually released to the public, like the Weapon EVO ox and the Star Player EVO ox.

Now Converse has finally combined their CBT technology in a low top performance basketball shoe that you can buy.  The Converse All American Low.  I showed this shoe recently but now it has gone up on Zappos.com and Shoes.com in a full run of sizes for $65.

The very future of low top Converse basketball shoes may very well hinge on how many pairs of the All American are sold.  It may not, but it certainly wouldn't hurt the prospects of an expanded the basketball line.   So here is the challenge, get yourself a pair of these. Even if you don't trust low tops for basketball, they would be great for walking or just something to kick around in with the added cushioning of the full length CBT technology.

Converse Star Player DL

So Converse remembered that they make basketball shoes and finally released their first performance basketball shoe of 2011.   There were some shoes in the spring catalog, but all of them got cut as did a few of the other shoes that were supposed to release during the summer.  I'm still holding out hope to see the Converse All American release in the coming days, but who knows.

But look on the bright side, you can sorta buy the shoes that JJ Barea won in NBA Championship in. You can get them at Converse.com for $55

I said on Twitter earlier that I was trying not to be negative, not sure I succeeded with that.  I mean Fila has had more performance basketball shoes release in 2011 then Converse.  I am not trying to make people mad, but how is this okay with anyone?

Converse Star Player EVO Argentina PE

I know I'm a little late on this, but I wanted you to get a look at some pretty sweet Converse.  Argentina was the most Converse filled team in the FIBA world basketball tournament with 4 players wearing the Chevron and Star.  Two of those players sported Argentina colorways of the Star Player EVO.  I previously showed you another colorway, but today's post features the White/Carolina Blue colorway.  As you can see the flag of Argentina can be seen on the tongue of the Star Player EVOs, which is a nice little touch.

It's been an exciting few days around Converse land, with the new Converse One Star running shoes yesterday, and now the Star Player EVO hits the brand new Converse.com.  Here are the available colorways below.  The Star Player EVO retails for $90 and you can see Carlos Arroyo and hopefully others rock these during The World Basketball Festival.

Converse Star Player EVO x Karmaloop TV, watch this now!!!!!!!

Karamloop TV catches up with the Global Senior Manager of Converse Basketball Karim Wazani as he breaks down the Converse Star Player EVO. Honestly, I haven't been this excited for Converse shoe since the He:01, the first Helium shoe. As you'll find out in the video, the shoe is going to be a feather light 12 oz. I don't want to give too much away, so just check it out for yourselves.

That's it for now. There won't be a Friday Flashback post this week, I'm headed out of town for a few days. Don't forget to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog,
