'S Weapon Wednesday: Black/Red Weapon 86

There have been a few different Weapon 86 colorways that I've seen this year, unfortunately most of them never got a wide release. At least any release that I was aware of. Which really helps to fire me up about these Black/Red Mid top Weapon 86 joints that are up zappos.com

That's all I've got today, hopefully you'll be able to see some Weapons on the NBA courts tonight.  Keep your eyes peeled for the Weapon EVO's!  Follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog

PS.  If you happen to have Direct TV then you've got to check out Friday Night Lights tonight on the 101.  Support great scripted TV!

'S Weapon Wednesday: ConverseOne Weapon Ox

So I was playing around on ConverseOne last night and I came up with a few designs that I thought I'd share with you. If you don't already know, the Converse Weapon OX is now up and live at ConverseOne.com.  First up is the Converse Weapon OX Wyoming colorway, which is inspired by one of my favorite color combos in all of sports.  That combo belongs to the Wyoming Cowboys!  I was so hoping that they could've pulled off the huge upset over Texas last week...oh well they'll have to settle for some love from the Converse Blog.

I'm not really a Raiders fan, I am actually a Dolphins fan.  However, I couldn't make a Dolphins colorway on ConverseOne so I had some fun and gave some love the Black Hole in Oakland.

Here is my DA BULLS colorway. There is nothing like a straight black shoe with a hit of Red in the Y-Bar, at least that's what my mother always told me.

Last but not least, is my Coach Cal colorway.  As you know I'm a hardcore Kentucky fan, so I thought I'd give our new coach some love with his own Converse Weapon colorway.

That's it for today.  If you've got any ideas for a new poll send them my way.  Don't forget to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog.  Thanks for checking out the blog.

How about a Converse Collaboration with Family Force 5

Sometimes when I find two different things that I really like, I wonder what it would be like if they crossed paths.  Blue cheese and Buffalo sauce flavored Doritos come to mind.  How about Action/Comedy movies, anyone?  I am guessing that you get the idea here.
Which brings me to today’s post.  This post is pretty much a suggestion for a marriage between two of my favorite things.  The first is obviously Converse; given the very existence of this site you should have guessed that part of the equation.
This is where things get a little crazy.  One of my favorite new bands goes by the name of Family Force 5.   If you’ve never heard of them well consider this your lucky day.  I’ll link you to their MySpace but, I only truly began to appreciate them once I saw them live.  Lucky for you they’re out right now on the AP Tour 09.  That’s the same magazine that they’re currently on the cover of.
So why do I think that a collaboration between Converse and Family Force 5 would be awesome.  Well for one thing we’ve seem Converse music collaborations in the past, granted the vast majority of them have been with classic rock acts.  So I was thinking why not throwing some young blood into the mix.
Ultimately though what really got my wheels turning on this is the re-issued Converse Force 5 running shoe.  You’ve got a shoe that already has 2/3 of the band’s name in it, how perfect is that?
Plus it would be a completely different type of shoe to do a collaboration with.  There is nothing wrong with the Chucks, Purcells, and Weapons that have been used in music collaborations before, but this would be an interesting change.

So that's what's been floating around in my head for a few weeks now and I feel much better now that I got that out.  Here are two of their music videos, check em now.

That's it for today, by the way it looking like Kentucky's new head coach is going to be none other than John Calipari!  Sounds good to me.

's Weapon Wednesday: Weapon Ox with Strap.

I was searching around on some of the international Converse sites and I came across these from Converse Korea.  Previously I have shown you pictures of Weapons from Converse Korea, most they have been mid top Weapons with Straps.  Today I found a Weapon Ox that came with a strap.  Here it is in White/Black colorway.

Thanks for checking out the blog, come back for Converse awesomeness.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: Hip-hop Weapons

Hello to each and every person visiting the Converse Blog. If you're a first time visitor then take a few minutes and dig through the older post. Wednesday are usually reserved for the Converse Weapon and today we'll continue that tradition. Today's Weapon is a Converse China release and is a black colorway of a Weapon I've shown before. They are designed with Hip-Hop elements. Can you spot all of them?

Well that's it for today, sorry for the late post. I got called in late to sub for the Art teacher at the middle school today. I didn't have any plans, so I made them design shoes. A lot of them designed some chucks, one actually looked pretty good. It was even a product (Red) chuck. Anyway, I'll be back Friday for more Converse goodness.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: The Goods.

The NBA Playoffs are in full swing. Everyone seems to be salivating for a Lakers vs Celtics Final. If this does end up being the finals match up then I would love to see a full run of what I have pictured below. Larry Bird's Black and White vs Magic's Purple and Gold. I am not going to say much today, I really just wanted to post the pictures and let you enjoy them. They could even run the old commercial again, which I guess they would need permission from Magic and Bird. Either way, it is because of these shoes and who wore them that (nearly) every Wednesday is Weapon Wednesday here at the Converse Blog. Just take a minute to stare at them and let them marinate in your mind.
