'S Weapon Wednesday: Converse Weapon S Mid Black Flag.

Welcome the the Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday! Today we have the Weapon S Black Flag edition.  This is a sample pair of the shoe that is available now.  The only difference that I've seen between the sample and released version is that the out sole is green on the released version.  Since I don't have any good pictures of the actual release we'll have to make it work with the sample pair picture below.

Some of the Weapon skate shoes that have released have had some pretty loud colorways, but I really like the amount of neon green used on these.  It's just enough to add some spice without blinding people looking at it.  Head over the www.converseskateboarding.com to search for dealers of the CONS skate and Black Flag lines of shoes.

'S Weapon Wednesday: 90's Weapon Hi

Welcome to The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday!  I've been sitting on these Weapons for a couple of months now but I just couldn't hold back any longer.  At some point in the 90's Converse released the Weapon's again.  The upper looks, for the most part, exactly like the Weapon of the 80's.  What really sets these apart is the midsole and I assume the outsole is different too.  On the midsole there is a Converse branding hit near the toe cap area of the shoe.  Then in the heel area of the midsole there is a purple section that travels up from the outsole.  You'll see what I am talking about below...

That's it for today,  still no word on any of the rookie shoe contracts so stay tuned.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: Extra High Weapon

Today's Weapon comes from Japan, at least I am pretty sure anyway. I am calling these the Weapon Extra High. These work really well in this clean white leather/suede upper. They feature two straps around the extra high top upper. They also threw in a heel tab for good measure. And as you can see in the back ground they also come with a nice retro inspired Converse box.

That's all for Weapon Wednesday, but check back on Friday for another Friday Flashback here at the Converse Blog. Also I am looking for a good idea for a new poll for the blog, so sent me over your ideas and I'll get one of them up soon.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: Kobe in Converse.

Short post today folks, my Grandmother fell in her Kitchen yesterday. So she's kickin' it at the hospital today and I am going to go spend some much needed time with her. So I'll leave you with this photo from a few years ago, you'll see Kobe rocking the Magic colorway of the Weapons...in a Game. I can't tell how amazing it was to see that a few years ago. Sorry for the tagged photo, it was the only one I could find on short notice.

Thanks for checking out the blog, check back Friday for some Friday Flashback.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: Japan Snake Skin Lakers Weapns.

Here is an interesting twist on an all-time Classic Converse. The Lakers colorway of the Weapons is seen below. However, the gold portions of the shoe have been replaced with a Gold Faux-Snakeskin pattern. This results in a darker gold and purple colorway of this Weapon. Sadly, these are only dropping in Japan.

Well that's all for today's Weapon Wednesday. Don't forget to weapresent your opinion and vote in the poll on your way out. Thanks for checking out the blog!

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday

Hi all, welcome to the latest edition of the Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday. Today's Weapon is one of the Poorman's Canvas Weapons. These came out in Europe but I don't believe that they made it here. I must say that I really enjoy the use of the Teal Green and the dark green.
I am giving my first test today, so I am really nervous. It also means I'll be a little swamped the next few days grading these essays test. But it is pretty exciting none the less. I got an awesome idea for a new poll that I am going to try and post up before Friday. Thanks for checking out the blog!

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday Hip Hop

Good Wednesday to you...and to you. Welcome one and all to the Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday. Today's pair comes from TaoBao and is probably either a sample pair or a china exclusive Weapon. Either way it's designed with Hip-hop symbols. You'll see a mic, turntable, mix tape, boom box, and some Krylon.

Well that's it for today... I haven't forgotten about a new poll, but then again I did sort of haha. Anyway, thanks for stopping in here at the Converse Blog.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday, Weapons of Mass Destruction!

"Welcome all and welcome all its that beat that hurts em all it's that classic instant smash hit it's that heat that burns em all."  Those are some words of wisdom from my man RedCloud, don't sleep.  It's Wednesday day, Team USA and D Wade are rolling, Nibroc starts today, and I am flying high off of the paint fumes coming from the living room...okay not really flying high, but you knew that.
Keeping up with apparent tradition of not showing any shoes this week, today's Weapon Wednesday takes an interesting and exciting turn.  Late last night I found a new t-shirt up at Converse.com.   It's titled Mass Destruction Tee. It sure is, take a look at it here below.

The Lakers Weapon colorway is center stage in this shirt wedged between "Mass" and "Destruction."  However, for a Converse freak like me the best part of the shirt is the little logo on the bottom.  It is the original Weapon logo with the 1986 era Converse logo.  Yes, I am talking about the Square and Star Converse logo...it is simply beautiful.  Plus, for all those fans of the Lakers colorway Weapons, but didn't really like the Lakers, now you can have a shirt to wear.  Thanks for checking out the blog, don't forget to vote today, it is the last day of the current poll.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday

Happy Weapon Wednesday to each of you. Today I've got a Weapon from Converse Korea, at least I think it's Korea. Yes I just check, and it is Converse Korea. Anyway, I've shown you their White/White Weapon Straps before and now comes the White/Black/Red Weapon Straps. I like the addition of the straps, I want to say that there were a few original Weapons with straps but I could be wrong about that. However, with new logo it just seems a little out of place. Oh well, any Weapon is better than no Weapon.

That's it for today, I hope you enjoy these Weapons and the other post of this blog. Thanks for reading and please come back often.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: Slim Weapon + Elton Brand update

You've seen Weapons and you've seen the Poor Man's Canvas Weapons....well if they mated you'd get today's Weapon Wednesday. I am calling these the Converse Weapon Slim, but that's just because I don't have an official name and that's the best I could come up with. These shoes are for those of you that like the look of the Weapon but don't want to feel of a basketball shoe. They're also for those of you that enjoy the Chuck Taylor mid-outsole but want a little more support for your ankles. Also these shoes are for everyone else, for various other reason.

If you remember back a few weeks ago when I posted pictures from Elton Brand's initial photo shoot with 76ers...go ahead think back. At the time I questioned if Mr. Brand was in fact wearing his own signature Converse shoe. Well it turns out that he will have his own signature and it will be sold at exclusively at JC Penny for $65. You can read more about it by going over to Dime Magazine. You'll also find a description of the EB logo, pretty cool.

Well that's it for today, thanks to checking out the blog and don't forget to vote on your way out.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday Brown/Tan/Orange

Hi all, welcome to the Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday. I know it seems like a really long time since we've had a Weapon Wednesday and I agree. That is why it's back today better than ever, well maybe. These leather Weapons in a Brown/Tan/Orange color are very nice and I hope you enjoy.

Well that's it today, I know I told everyone that I would make up for a lack luster Friday post but some personal stuff has been happening that's pretty exciting and scary at the same time. I don't want to say anything yet but I'll let you all know when I can. Don't forget to vote on the NBA team poll with Boston and LA in the lead.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday Kirk Hinrich PE

Welcome to the Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday. Today is a special Weapon Wednesday with a pair of Kirk Hinrich PE weapons. For lack of a better explanation, these are in 3/4 in cut, something I've never seen before in the Weapons. Enjoy!

They feature the initials FBH which are his Grandfather's initials.

Below is Kirk's logo on the heel, you can see the K and H that make up the logo.

Well that's it for today, I hope you enjoyed these unique kicks. There are only a few days left to vote in the poll and anything can happen between Rose, Beasley, and Mayo. Also, keep those Your Cons, Your Story submissions coming in, hopefully I can get some of those up very soon.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday.

Good Wednesday, I hope everyone enjoyed all of the NBA action last night. The game was nice, but the draft lottery was trash. It's bad enough that Miami didn't get he first pick but for it to go the Bulls, that sucked. It's bad enough that Miami might miss out on Derrick Rose, but if the Bulls take him then Kirk Hinrich will be on his way out. At least he should be on his way out, he is a starting point guard in the league. Anything could happen, but I am hoping that the Bulls take Beasley.

Anyway, we're here for Weapon Wednesday. Today I've got something really special, big thanks to youtube user elithecat for their posting of this great commercial.

I love this commercial, but it always troubled me that Magic was in his Lakers gear and Larry was just rocking a t-shirt. Don't get me wrong, it would be completely weird and out of place for Larry to be playing in French Lick wearing his Celtics jerseys.

So why was Magic in his Lakers jersey, perhaps it was for the pull away pants. I am not sure they were popular enough to offer them to the public at the time. However, if that is the only reason it's a pretty weak reason. Either way, it is a great commercial and I'd love to see it played again in the NBA finals, assuming we get the "dream" match-up. Thanks for checking out the blog, should have a new poll up later today, so be sure to vote if it is up.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: Paint Splatter

These Weapons are out of control. I recently saw them on Converse China's website. Recently like yesterday, a research day. For lack of true name, I am going to call these the Weapon Paint Splatter. That's pretty much the best description of what you'll see below. I wish I had better, larger pictures, but these were the only pics I found.

They really could have gone over the top with these. However, they look more like the stuff you'd lay down on the floor when you're painting, which is a nice change of pace. I doubt we'll see these over here, so if you're over in China for the Olympics you might want to pick these up. What? I am just saying.

I am tossing around the idea of doing some personal profiles for Converse fans. I'd need a picture of you wearing Converse and answers to a few questions. I'll try to come up with some more solid by Friday. Thanks for coming over to the Converse blog.

The Converse Blog's Not So Weapon Wednesday. Megan Whitmarsh Pro Leather.

I know what you're thinking, it's Weapon Wednesday, where are the Weapons? Well once I found some pictures of these Project (Red) Pro Leathers I had to get them on the blog. This shoe happens to be number 14 of the 1Hund(RED) artist series. Megan Whitmarsh from Los Angeles designed these. You can learn more about these at Converse.com. All of these pics come from TaoBao.com. Enjoy these simple yet compelling Pro Leathers, nothing like a change of pace for the middle of the week.

When these drop they will be in limited numbers, so be on the look out. Thanks for coming to the Converse blog, enjoy the rest of your Wednesdays.
