's Weapon Wednesday: Converse Weapon EVO Kirk Hinrich PE

Welcome back to a wonderful Weapon Wednesday.  I hope you're all getting ready for Christmas, if not there is still time...so get with it people.  You've seen Captain Kirk Hinrich wearing the Converse Weapon EVO since last season, now you can get a close up of his player exclusive version.  Below you'll see the Kirk Hinrich logo and the initials of fbh, which I believe are those of Kirk's grandfather.

Hello world, I'm really excited about today's post because it's a new basketball shoe from Converse.  The Converse Drop Step is the 2nd shoe to feature the Converse Balls technology.  There is an obvious old school flavor to these, and you should enjoy that very much.  I'd love to get a shot of the outsole to see how the Balls technology looks with this set up.  As you've probably already noticed the Drop Step does not have visible Balls Technology, at least in the midsole.  I've got a pretty good feeling that you can see it from the outsole.

The Drop Step first released in the White/Red/Black and Black/White colorways above.  You should expect other colors and possibly even an Ox version in the months to come.  Below I've taken a few close up shots of some of the more interesting details of the shoe.  In fact, Acie Law was wearing the Drop Step early in the season when he was actually playing for Golden State.

Well that's it for today, thank you very much for checking out The Original Converse Blog.  Please tell everyone that we're now at TheConverseBlog.net and you can still follow along on Twitter @TheConverseBlog.

The Converse Blog: Converse x The Clash's London Calling

Converse has been teaming up with some of the most successful bands of all time, these collaborations will continue with the release of the Converse x The Clash line of footwear.  Below you will see the main release of the bunch, aka the London Calling Chuck.  Simple and clean would be the perfect words to describe this shoe....enjoy!

I've noticed, especially with the Metalica collaboration that Converse has really been drawing from the album covers, which I think is a really nice touch.  You can find these on Converse.com along with the other Converse x The Clash shoes!

The Converse Blog update

What a mess. Hello world, this is James from THE Converse Blog. Recently my original domain of TheConverseBlog.com expired and before I could figure out what happened it was purchased by another person. I had originally purchased the domain through google in 2007 and at the time I selected the automatic renew feature, which was supposed to automatically charge my credit card for the domain. However, this did not happen, and I lost the domain. To make matters worse, the new owner of theConverseblog.com has simply copied and pasted my archived posts. This tells me that the he was a reader of the blog, which really makes matters worse.

All of this to say that I will be posting here at TheConverseBlog.Net from now. I'm looking forward to providing the most geniuine and honest coverage of Converse that I can.

Converse NBA Player Exclusives for Elton Brand and Kirk Hinrich.

Early in the year I made mention that I thought Alando Tucker and Kyle Korver would be battling for the best colorways of Converse this year.  I might have to eat some crow on that statement.  Recently Elton Brand and Kirk Hinrich took to the floor wearing some fantastic PE's.  EB rocked the Red/Black/White EB2, the closest you'll get to these is in NBA Live 10.

Krik Hinrich has been wearing the Low top version of the Weapon EVO since last years playoffs, however we haven't seen the Red/Black/White colorway that he wore against Miami the other day.  Don't get your hopes up for this particular colorway of EVO low, just hope that Kirk wears them more often.

All of these pictures came from Yahoo Sports and therefore Getty images.

Well that's it for today, thank you very much for checking out the blog.  If you like what you see tell a friend and leave a comment.  Also, you can follow along on twitter.com @theConverseBlog

New Converse Marquette Gear.

Well it's been made pretty clear since Dwyane Wade was moved to Jordan that Marquette would also be moved.  In fact in their recent media day Marquette wore the same jersey design with the Jumpman logo replacing the Converse circle star.  However, over at GoMarquette.com 's store you can find all kinds of new Converse gear.  I know it's new because it features the Star Chevron logo that would have been on the actual jerseys this year.  You can also find some new Converse Marqutte stuff at Eastbay.com

I'm really torn on what to do here.   I'd like actually have some Converse basketball shorts with the Star Chevron logo. I know Marquette won't be wearing Converse anymore, and therefore I don't really want to support them.  I also know how long it was between Converse jerseys in the NCAA so I'm really tempted buy some of the gear.  You know, just incase it's nearly another decade before we see Converse jerseys again.
