I've noticed, especially with the Metalica collaboration that Converse has really been drawing from the album covers, which I think is a really nice touch. You can find these on Converse.com along with the other Converse x The Clash shoes!

Kentucky - Indiana All Star Game
Well the 2008-09 season is officially over and for the 15th time the Lakers are champions. Congratulations are in order for the fantastic job that the Lakers and Magic did in getting to the finals. While I was for the Magic, I am still just thrilled that Cleveland didn't win. However, the NBA wasn't the only basketball going on over the last few days. Besides the WNBA, the Kentucky and Indiana All Stars took the floor for their annual two game series.
The boys from the Hoosier state won both games but by all accounts it was a great weekend of All Star basketball. Below are three pictures from the game. As you will notice the Kentucky All Stars wore the Converse Wade Slash, which is why they're getting some love from The Converse Blog.
Below from AP Photo/Michael Conroy, Kentucky's Seth Faulkner and Corey Wildford are going for a loose ball.
Above from Kentucky.com, Future Kentucky Wildcat Jon Hood is seen taking a shot during his 20 point performance in game 1. Below from Kentucky.com is Kentucky All Star Ridge Wilson is going after
That's it for today, thanks for checking out the blog and voting in the poll. Check us out at Twitter too!

Converse All Star Strap Sample
Good Monday to each and all and welcome to another exciting week here at The Converse Blog. Today we're making history, or at least I think we're making history. I am pretty sure that this is the first time in the history of The Converse Blog that we've had back to back post featuring All Stars. I didn't bother checking to see if this is true, so I could be wrong. Either way it is unique, speaking of unique how about these Chucks. These All Stars feature a nice canvas strap around the ankle. I am pretty sure that these are just samples, but I have no pictures of a sample tag to prove my claim.
I got these pictures from on auction on TaoBao.com. While they came from an auction site from China for some reason I think these might have released in Japan. I am not for sure though, maybe I can find out more about them soon.

Converse All Star Fresh Cut Grass Sample
Sorry for the lack of a Friday Flashback as I had to work yesterday and had to go to the funeral home before the dinner plans I had last night. All of that resulted in no time to do a post yesterday. However, I thought I would try to make up for that with a post today.
I am not sure what the weather is like wherever you are, but here in Kentucky it's 70 and beautiful outside. Heck, I even saw a few yard sales going strong this morning. Which means it will only be a matter of time before the sound of lawnmowers strikes out across the bluegrass. Speaking of grass, these sample Chuck Taylor All Stars are perfect. With these shoes you can go ahead and throw out those beaters you've been mowing in for years because these shoes come with the grass stain build in. You can have the comfort of new shoes without worrying about staining them green.
I am not sure if these will ever release, but it is a really interesting take on the All Star's. I also want to wish my Kentucky Wildcats good luck against the Gators of Florida, because we really need to win! Thanks for checking out the blog and please tell everyone you know to check out The Converse Blog.

The Converse Blog: Olympic Mascot Chucks
Early this month I posted up pics of some Beijing 2008 Chucks with the Olympic font and ring logo under the clear outsole. Today I am back with some Beijing Olympic chucks, but this time they have the Olympic mascots on the shoe. The mascots known as the Fuwa, each represent many Olympic and Chinese elements . You can learn more about them here from W. Today I have two of the 5 Fuwa, Huānhuan and Jīngjing.

Huānhuan represents the Olympic Flame along with the element of fire. His personality is to leans towards being an extrovert and being enthusiastic. He represents in ideal of Passion and represents all sports played with balls.

Jingjing represents the Giant Panda and the elements of Forest and Wood. His personality is to be honest and optimistic. Jingjing also represents the ideal of happiness. He also represents sports like Judo and Weightlifting.

I am looking for the shoes of the other 3 Fuwa, so I hope to find them and post them up later. I hope to have a new poll up later this week so watch out for that. Thanks for checking the Fuwa and the Converse blog.

The Converse Blog: Kentucky All Stars in What If Pack Wade 3.0
Over the weekend the Kentucky - Indiana All Stars took the floor for the second game of their two game series. I was unable to see any pictures from the first game but I did see some video. It was clear to me that the Indiana All Stars were wearing New Balance Zips from a few years ago. However, I couldn't tell for sure what the Kentucky All Stars were wearing.
As it turns out they were wearing the Converse Wade 3.0, and not a normal colorway either. In fact they are from the What If Pack, which isn't even being sold here in America. The pack also includes the Converse 0100 and the Converse Revolution.

If you click on any of these links you'll see that the Kentucky All Stars won both games last night for the first time since 1991. It's pretty cool that they got these exclusive kicks for the game and the red really pops out on them.
Anyway, I thought I'd show some love for my state today. Thanks for checking out the blog and don't forget to vote the NBA draft is coming very soon.

The Converse Blog: Converse Century Chucks
It's getting closer and closer to the beginning of the Converse Century celebration for 2008. Recently I've been posting some products and information regarding 100 years of Converse. Today I will continue that with a look at the Converse Century Chucks, High and Ox. Pictured first is the High top in a white/orange/black colorway. On the side you'll see the Converse Century logo, Converse and 100 written in black. In the second picture you'll see the Chuck Logo patch.

The final four pictures are the of the white/orange/black and the grey/black Ox colorways. With the ox, the Converse Century logo is placed on the heel while the Converse and 100 are still on the side of the shoe. You can also see in the white colorway that the inside of the shoe is lined with the Converse Century logo. I have also seen a Navy/Silver colorway, but I couldn't find the picture this morning. By the way, the images come from www.Ebay.DE

That's it for today, have a happy Monday. Thanks for checking out the Converse Blog!
