Converse in the NBA

Here are a few pictures of Converse players in the NBA.  Unfortunately Acie Law was released by the Grizzles and I'm not sure if Chris Anderson has signed with Converse or not.  He wore Nike the next game and injured his back so I guess time will tell.  Enjoy

So there you  have it, 12 different NBA players wearing Converse at some point this Season.  Hopefully Acie Law can sign somewhere else before too long...The Knicks perhaps?  Anyway, stay locked on TheConverseBlog.NET for all of your Converse bloggy goodness.  Thanks for checking out the page and don't forget to follow along on Twitter @TheConverseBlog

The Converse Blog: NBA Pics

Happy new Month to each and all. December marks the final month of the year long Converse Century celebration and I am willing to bet that there might still be some surprises in store for the final month. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyed a few days off from work. Without further delay lets get to the pics.

First we have a few different pictures of Elton Brand wearing the Converse EB1. It appears through the pictures I've seen that Elton has a hard time keeping the midfoot straps down.

Here is Dwyane Wade, who has been playing MVPish basketball, however he has been doing it while wearing his first Converse basketball shoe the Wade 1. Does anyone know why he hasn't worn the 4's yet? I haven't heard anything besides he doesn't like them, which is odd because overall I've heard more positive talk about the 4's than I did about the 3's. Oh well only time will tell.

Here is another question mark, Udonis Haslem wearing the Converse 099 which he has been wearing for during the 3rd different season now. I got really excited at media day when Udonis wore the 0100, but I still haven't seen them on an NBA floor yet. W

Maurice Evans has been switching between last years Converse Hops and this years Converse Assist. Until recently he has been wearing the Hops in his Orlando Magic colorway, which looked really out of place in a Hawks uniform. He finally got in a pair of Black/White Hops, but has been wearing a PE version of the Assist as pictured below.

So far this year Acie Law has wore three different Converse shoes, the Converse Attack, Converse Assist, and the Converse Wade Slash. This is a real tale of past, present, and future. The Converse Attack came out last year and I believe it was a Champs Sports exclusive, or at least that was the only place I ever saw them released. The Assist is a team shoe from this season which Alando Tucker and Kirk Hinirch wore before they got hurt, neither are pictured today. Finally the Wade Slash is a shoe coming out soon and I've heard a lot of positive response from the sneaker community so look out for those in the future. However, I only have pictures of him wearing the Converse Attack.

Here is Kyle Korver wearing the Converse Assist, I don't have many pictures of him because he has been out hurt also.

Finally we come to Jameer Nelson, who I guess technically isn't a Converse endorser. At least according to Converse.com and the EB1 press release. But he has been wearing the Converse Assist in both home and away colorways all season long. If anyone knows any more about this situation please email me, I can't seem to find anything out.

Well that is it for today, enjoy Cyber Monday and check back for more updates here at The Converse Blog.

Converse in NBA Media Day and Practice

Well a lot of craziness going on in the sports world these days. Joe Torre coaching to save his job, after one of the best turn around in recent baseball history. Then you have Marion Jones coming clean...well at least coming honest. Trent Green is done as an NFL, or should be anyway. Locally, UK got Spurriered-for the 15th straight time. Jim Harbaugh won the only game he has coached for since taking the Stanford job. Today some of that craziness will fade out, at least for NBA fans. Today the preseason begins in earnest and I for one can't wait.

I want to see how Miami can respond. I want to see how good Boston really is. I want to see if AK47 brings in his wife to get him more playing time. Can the Bobcats continue to improve each season. How long until Acie Law IV gets some serious burn and takes over as starting point guard of the Red, White, and Blue Atlanta Hawks. The Most important question of all...will Lukasz Obrzut make the Indiana Pacers!

So I thought I'd pass a view pictures along from the Media days and practices. First up is Alando Tucker from the Suns. The guard from Wisconsin should fit in nicely with this up tempo Suns team. And I already love the White/Purple/Orange colorway of the 099's. Below he's taking a charge and posing for a media day shot.

Here is a shot of Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon from the Bulls media day. This is a different colorway than from the ad's showing the black/white/red 099's that you can find at Dicks Sporting Goods.

In this shot of the Hawks guards notice Acie Law IV on the end, he's the one not smiling because he'd rather be playing. Below is a picture from Hawks practice, that picture I got from the Hawks website.

Finally here is a shot from the Heat's scrimmage, Udonis is wearing a shoe that I haven't seen before so I hope to get some more information on that soon. And you also see an action show of D-Wade in the Wade 3.0...which I actually like this colorway once I've seen being worn. This is a smaller picture, so for a more detailed shot click here.

With Preseason starting tonight I hope to have some more pictures soon. Maybe even of some new Converse guys, I am trying to find out who they might be. Thanks for stopping by, come back often and tell your friends.

Acie Law

Hi all, great news. Acie Law has officially signed with Converse, at least that is what an article from Sports Page Weekly. Here what they had to say.

"With Kimball and Texas A&M guard Acie Law IV signing with the Atlanta Hawks, it was his Converse shoe contract that had the most immediate impact to many area basketball players. Law supplied several players and coaches with new shoes for this summer's hoops tournament schedule and a lot of Converse were on display last weekend as nearly 300 teams competed in the Great American Shootout in Denton. Law will wear Kirk Hinrich models this season, but, according to Kimball coach Snoop Johnson, Law will get his own Converse-made shoes if Law makes the All-Rookie team next year"

This is great news because there weren't any Converse players on the Hawks until now. This reminds me of when Jason Terry was drafted by the Hawks and signed with Converse. Hopefully this time things work out better. Law joins fellow rookie Alando Tucker in signing with Converse, The First School.
