Converse SICKS - New colorways.

Update:  Later on in the day Converse posted up two more team options and the Black/Gold colorway from the World Basketball Festival.

While we still haven't seen some of the teased colorways of the Converse SICKS from the world basketball festival...or a full run of team colors (that's another story)...Converse has finally released some exciting colorways of the Converse SICKS. The shoe that was originally designed to be Dwyane Wade's 6th signature shoe. Check out the fun colorways below and pick up a pair at Converse.com

It's been a rather frustrating few weeks and had the highs of convincing a middle school to buy 47 pairs of the Converse SICKS only to find out that we couldn't order 11 of the pairs because Converse didn't have the sizes.  Now that team is wearing Adidas and I lost out on a major sell.  So I took a few weeks off from the blog because, as you can imagine, I was pretty upset.  I'm not over it yet, but what can I really do about it.

But you have to wonder, why would Nike want competition from Converse when they can sell their shoes at a higher profit margin?  These are some of the same concerns I had 7 years ago when Nike bought Converse.

Anyway, at least we finally have some fun colorways of the SICKS to pick up.

Thank you so much for checking out the blog, please remember to follow along on twitter @TheConverseBlog

I feel your pain! Nike sucks ! If I was rich I'd buy Converse from them. You can't buy Converse in any store's around here {maybe some Chuck's} If it wasn't for the internet you couldn't get anything! The one thing I thought was when Nike took over at least you'd be able to get shoes in the Mall but that never happened !

@Greg, That sucks for you. I have a Converse retail store close to me and many other stores around here sell Converse. I'm glad because ordering Converse on line is risky. The sizing from model to model is very inconsistent. Some are sized in UK sizing and some are USA size. I would never buy a pair unless I could try them on first.

Another problem with Converse sizing is that some models don't have half sizes. I would love to get a pair of Star Player Evo's put I haven't seen them in any store any where, including the Converse retail store, and the online stores don't have half sizes.

We have a oulet store about 180 miles from us , but they don't always have the best selection, I call them every now and see what they have. I've been wearing Converse forever and I always take a 10.5 . I emailed Converse about the Star Player Evo and they said to order up a size.

I heard that the Ox version of the Star Player EVO would be releasing, but I don't know if they'll have half sizes. I sure hope so though, it's a fantastic shoe that more people should have access to.

quite like these... nottotally sold on the colours... but hey, they're still nice.

where i live..; the only converse available is chucks... i don't liek chucks, never have, i like proper balling shoes...

@Greg, Ordering up a size is the typical answer but that is bush league for Converse to suggest that.

I don't mess around with improper fitting shoes. I don't know why Converse decided not to release the Star Player EVO in half sizes but whatever the reason it's stupid. I won't buy half a size bigger just to get these shoes. Someone at Converse needs to give their head a shake on this.

And once again Converse is run by a bunch of morons. First up Converse's website should have more basketball shoes and clothing to support but it doesn't. Nike is derailing this company very fast...look at Under Armour that is where Converse should be. Also not one D1 school is wearing any Converse at all. Dr. J really need to step in a kick asses!

Since Nike owns Converse they are to blame. I don't think Nike cares or wants Converse to do well other than the Chuck Taylor line. They would rather push their over priced Nike junk.

I haven't bought a pair of Nike's in years. Can't stand anything about them. Best thing for Converse is for Nike to dump them and someone else take over.

Just got off the Eastbay website and the 1/2 sizes of the Star EVO 's are on back order 12/15/2010! Maybe somebody is listening!

That's fantastic news, as it would lead me to believe the Ox version will come in half sizes too. Also I want thank you all for making comments, it's the best way I know people are actually reading the post.

Maybe I should do a "If you could run Converse for a Day" post. Email me your ideas and I'll see what I can put together. ConverseNCAA@hotmail.com

I have yet to see a site that has half sizes for the Star Player EVO. From what I understand Converse doesn't make them in half sizes for that model.

Greg, where did you get your info from? I hope it's true but how can half sizes be back ordered if half sizes are not even made for this shoe?

Go to eastbay.com and look they are now listed for the Black , Grey, and Blue, but are back ordered . Don't know why the two white colorways aren't listed in half size's . Hope this helps!

OK thanks, I didn't look at those colors. I want the white with red/white/blue.
