There is no doubt that people love Chucks, One Stars, and Jack Purcells...however, it is becoming more apparent that the popularity of the Converse Sea Star is on the rise. There have been a number of colorways released, and there are even more lined up for the future. Below the Sea Star Skate II gets the blue suede treatment with some nice leather laces. Pick them up at Converse.com for only $55.
This is a blog for fans of Converse. This blog is currently updated at least 3 times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I hope you enjoy what you see here. You can reach me at conversencaa@hotmail.com

Converse RUNE Pro II
Below is the new Converse RUNE Pro II, which is the second pro shoe for Converse Skate Ambassador Rune Glifberg. I've only seen these on UK websites so I am not sure when you can see them Stateside. Below are the Brown and Grey colorways. You can see that these are mid tops with plenty of padding around the ankles so you know they're comfortable.

The Converse Blog: CONS Skateboarding Sample
There seems to a lot of interest in the new CONS skateboarding line. One advantage is having shoes that don't have tongues that could double as airplane pillows. Today I have pictures of a sample colorway of the CONS Pro Leather.

The Converse Blog: CONS ERX 300 SB
Previously I showed you a picture or two of the new CONS ERX 300 Skateboarding shoe from Converse. But you know that just one picture isn't enough, so I am back today with a more complete view of this new SB product. Even though I don't skate, I love these and can't wait to get them on my feet. I am really looking forward to the memory foam in the ankle area. Well enjoy the pics below.

The Converse Blog: CONS ERX 300 Re-Issue
The other day a few pictures of a re-issued CONS ERX 300 leaked. They come from the French Sneaker Blog Guillotine. It says that there will be other colorways released this winter. We'll have to see about that, but I sure hope so. While these aren't true retro's of the ERX 300's that I've seen, you can see the influence. I am very excited about the use the CONS name and logo.
Honestly, the midsole and the thick looking tongue make them look like a skate edition. Which would explain some of the differences from the original. Especially with the recent use of classic Converse basketball shoes into skate edition shoes. Only time will tell.

The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback: Chany He: Helium Skate Shoe.
There has been all kinds of stuff going on the last few days. I've been emailed pics from the Open Gym in Philly, there is a new Converse contest with Eastbay, plus I am working on something new for the blog. However, all of that will have to wait, at least for today. Why? Because today is Friday, and Friday's are for Flashbacks. Today's Flashback is the Chaney He: These were the only Converse Helium skate shoes that were released, and they were signature shoes for Chany Jeanquenin.

The first colorway, is the black/blue/grey colorway. These actually are in my collection, although I've never been a skateboard. As you can see in the heel area, Converse Helium provided the cushioning for these.

They also featured Converse ABS, which to best of my memory was a technology used make the materials more durable. This was applied to the cage looking material on the outer side of these shoes. Below are the two other colorways that were released. I am extremely jealous of anyone that has the White/Blue colorway. I always thought they looked the best.

You can see the Helium logo on outsole of this shoe here. The logo is combination of C for Converse and He: for the periodic table's symbol for Helium.

Here is a Converse for the Chaney He:
Skate Commercial for Converse featuring Chany, Felix, and Kenny
Before I sign off for today, I want to talk about Converse Helium. This is by far my favorite Converse technology. I still say to this day the best basketball shoe I've ever had was the Converse He:01. Converse Helium really came at a terrible time for Converse, in the 99-01 range in which the company fell into bankruptcy.
To me, Converse Helium had the most potential to take Converse to the next level. At the time when Converse Helium was announced, Basketball, Training, Running, and Skate shoes were promised. I even went as far as to pre-order a pair of the running shoes from Hibbit's. However, the running shoes were all canceled except one pair. The training shoes never came out here in America and the skate team died out shortly after. Basketball was the only catagory to continue on the Helium line. It was two years after the initial release before Helium found its way to a Converse team shoe.
I've always wanted to see a full length Converse Helium shoe would look and perform. Hopefully someday Converse Helium will return. Until then, I'll have to live in the past, and in what could've been. Thanks for stopping in, please take a second to vote on the way out.

Converse Pro Leather Skate
A few weeks ago I posted some pics of the Converse Weapon Skate. Today I have some pictures of the Converse Pro Leather Skate. There is a pair up on Converse.com in a Chocolate/Tan colorway. I also found a picture of what looks to be a Black/Tan colorway, they are pictured below. So far we've seen Converse Chuck Taylor Skate, Converse Weapon Skate, and now the Converse Pro Leather Skate. I really like this approach and I look forward to seeing what else Converse has down the like with their skate shoes. I actually bought my first pair of Converse skate shoes recently, the Converse Skate Star 2. Even though I don't skate, they're really quite comfortable. Anyway, here are are the pics of the Pro Leather Skate.

Well that will be it for today, Thank you for coming to the Converse Blog, before you go please vote in the new Poll. Before I go though, I want to talk about Andre Miller. 20 points, 3 rebounds, 6 Assists, 1 steal and logged over 44 minutes of action in the 76ers win over the Pistons in the first game of their series.

The Converse Blog's Friday Flashback: Martial Arts Shoe
Before we get to today's blog I want to draw attention to correction for Wednesday post. The Weapon that I showed it called the Weapon Skate and not the Weapon SB. Big thanks to "Smudge" for letting me know the real name. I am going to go back and fix it in the post though.
Also I'd like to apologize for the extremely late post of today's flashback. I was playing my roommate in NCAA 08 and it got really competitive. Speaking of competition today's shoe is all about competition. The Converse Martial Arts shoe.

These had to come out in the late 70's early 80's, well that's my guess anyway. I don't really know much about them other than they've got to be pretty unique.

Again, sorry for the late post, but better late than never. Thanks for stopping in at the Converse Blog. I hope to have a new poll up by the start of the week so stay tuned.

The Converse Blog's Weapon Wednesday: Weapon Skate
Recently rumors have been flooding in that Converse has started up their Skate Team again. The rumors suggest that so far Kenny Anderson has returned to Converse along with Anthony Pappalardo, Alex Olson, Raymond Molinar. I remember the first time Converse tried out having a skate team, and there were some really amazing shoes to come out in that time. Skate shoes with React 2 and Helium even made their way to the market. I have a pair of the Helium shoes named for Chany Jeanguenin that I will profile in a Friday Flashback soon.
However, today is Wednesday and Wednesdays are for Weapons. So to continue the theme above here are some better pics of the Converse Weapon Skate. These aren't my pictures, but I can't remember where I found them. But what I do know is that I will be buying a pair of these when they come out.
I am really excited about the unique outsole made for these. I really like the touch of having a modified Weapon upper and a Chuck midsole.

Today is the last day to vote in the current poll so if you haven't voted please do. Also thank you for checking out the blog, if you have any suggestions or comments please don't hesitate to contact me.
